Excellence in Music Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in Music. Successful recipients are expected to maintain their commitment to studies and make a significant contribution to the Music program, demonstrating qualities of conduct and citizenship. They are awarded a percentage remission of tuition fees for the duration of their Secondary education, provided that they continue to meet required standards in both the music and academic program and attend weekly lessons in the Instrumental Music Program.
Excellence in Music Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in Music. They are awarded a percentage remission of tuition fees for the duration of their Secondary education, provided that they continue to meet required standards in both the music and academic programs and attend weekly lessons in the Studio Music Lesson Program.
An Excellence in Music Scholarship holder must also be available to attend all weekly rehearsals in all school ensembles and are strongly encouraged to commit to classroom music studies at the College and integrate their developing musicianship within their academic studies.
Students wishing to apply for an Excellence in Music Scholarship will need to demonstrate:
- A very high level of musicianship and technical skill, playing one or more musical instruments or singing.
- A high level of commitment and interest in music performance or composition.
- Academic endeavour and a striving for excellence.
- Aspirational leadership values and attributes.
Students wishing to apply should register online, pay the AAS application fee and upload the following documentation to support their application. Students may be selected to perform at an audition and interview. More information about the audition will be forwarded to selected students.
- an introductory letter in student's own handwriting, stating why they would like to attend St Andrew’s Anglican College (if not already enrolled) and why they make a worthy candidate for a scholarship
- two most recent School reports
- copies of Certificates of achievement including NAPLAN results
- a dot point history of participation in their area of excellence
- a reference from a music or instrumental music teacher. The reference is not essential and does not need to be from your child’s current school. (Not required if a current St Andrew's Student)
- a reference from a member of an organisation or association that you are currently affiliated with
- any music examination results to date (ie:AMEB Grade 3).
Applications are CLOSED for 2025 entry. Applications for 2026 entry open July 2025.
