What do Friends of the Garden do?
Friends of the Garden are typically families who enjoy gardening themselves and who believe that development of the garden is good for the students, our community and the planet. Friends of the Garden lend their time and talent to helping progress the garden faster than were its sole part-time caretaker left to manage it all by himself. Friends of the Garden have two main ways to help:
Chooks need feeding, plants need watering, and even worms need love. These things don’t stop at weekends or school holidays. Friends of the Garden lend a hand.
We have a variety of development projects including Chicken Coop Shade, developing a Manure Supply Chain, building a Water Tank Stand, creating a Native Food Garden, installing Artworks, building an Outdoor Classroom, creating a Shade & Propagation Structure and acquiring a Chicken Tractor. Parents can get involved in any one or all of these workstreams.
