Three Tournament of Minds teams recently returned from the Australasian Pacific Finals in Adelaide, where their minds and teamwork skills were put to the test at an international level.
Our Primary Social Science, Primary Science Technology and Secondary Social Science teams participated as part of the QLD Squad in their respective categories against teams from around Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam.
After an official opening ceremony for the event, enjoying some downtime in the Adelaide Central Markets, and networking with other state and national teams, the students then had to focus on the core business of TOM: a 3-hour Lockdown Challenge and 10-minute Spontaneous Challenge.
All three teams delivered engaging and creative performances of solutions to both challenges.
Our Primary Science Technology team went even further, being awarded with 2nd place Honours in their division!
Congratulations to all students who participated in TOM at regional and state finals level this year, and then particularly to these three APF teams for their further time, enthusiasm, skill and enjoyment of TOM at the APFs.
Well done and we all look forward to seeing you involved in TOM next year.
