Term 4 Primary Sport opportunities

Dear families – thank you for a wonderful Term 3 of Sport. We are delighted to offer a number of Primary School Sport Co-curricular options next term. All information is outlined below. Thank you for your wonderful support of St Andrew’s Sport. Have an enjoyable break.

Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 NETBALL


Future Stars Netball Club is open to all current Prep to Year 2 children.

The event takes place each Monday afternoon in the RGC (sports hall) from 3.15pm - 4.15pm.
This commences on Monday 15 October and concludes on Monday 19 November.
Students are to wear their Red Sports uniform (There is no need to purchase a netball dress)

CRICKET

St Andrew’s is excited to announce two new cricket programs to run at St Andrew’s this cricket 2018/2019 Summer season.

Junior Blasters is aimed at those learning the basic skills of cricket and this will be run during Term 4 this year : ideal for Prep – Year 2.
Master Blasters is aimed at those who have the basic skills and want to play modified cricket games.  This will take place in Term 1 2019 and sign on for this program will be sent out later. Ideal for Year 3-6

We are currently taking sign on for Junior Blasters.

  • 60 Minutes of fun
  • Recommended for girls and boys aged 5 - 7
  • Six weeks of action on Tuesday afternoons at 3.15pm to 4.15pm from 16th of Oct to 20th of Nov
  • Learn new skills including catching, throwing and teamwork
  • All students get their own Blasters Pack and wear the colours of their favourite Big Bash heroes
  • All equipment supplied, parents are welcome to join in the fun
  • It's safe - we use plastic bats and a rubber ball

Each Junior Blasters pack includes

T-shirt with your name on it
Bucket hat in your choice of Big Bash team colour
Plastic bat
Rubber ball
Personalised bat sticker sheet
Junior Blasters Skill scorecard
The cost for the Junior Pack and 6 week program is $99.

FOOTBALL Skills, drills and games

Really looking forward to offering a fun morning of Football skill development for our Year 1- 5 students

Each Friday morning 7.15am – 8.15am – starting Friday 12th October and concluding Friday 23rd November on the Secondary oval.
There will be skills, drills and games. Brand new players and existing players are warmly encouraged to come along
Please wear red sports uniform, College red socks, boots and shinguards
No sign up required – just come along!

TENNIS – Term 4, 2018

We are getting ready for the ‘Summer of Tennis’ and throughout Term 4 there are opportunities before school and after school.
You can get involved in squads and groups as well as private lessons.

PRIMARY SURFING

Squads commence on Friday Oct 12 - Week 1 of Term 4.  All updates of location, cancellations and times will be made on the Facebook group the day before the squad is scheduled to take place (usually in the afternoon).  The link for the facebook group is available - click here. (If you are new you will need to request to join the group)

Junior surf squads:

- Beginner Micro Surf Groms with GoRideAWave Surf School
- Super Shredders - Years 4/5 (Compulsory parent water safety)
- Gidget Gurfers – Girls in Years 5/6 (parent water safety encouraged)
- Froth Monsters – Boys/Girls in Year 6 - with Graham “Eggy” Endersby
