College Chaplain, Gary McClellan:
"What a wonderful blessing it is to join the St Andrew’s Anglican College community this year as the College Chaplain. My name is Gary McClellan, and together with my family (Bek and our two daughters) we relocated from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast at the beginning of 2017. The purpose of our move was so that I could complete a Graduate Diploma in Education at USC and then follow my dream to work as a school chaplain. Prior to 2017, I worked for 13 years as a Minister in a large Anglican church in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I am also a qualified carpenter and have a degree in Construction Management, so moving out of the building industry and into Christian ministry was somewhat of a shock to everyone, including myself. As well as teaching Christian Education to all Year 7 to 9 students and playing a key role in College Chapel Services, my hope and prayer is that I will provide a pastoral ministry to staff, students and parents. I would be very happy to speak with you at any time as the need arises, or offer to conduct Baptisms, Weddings or Funeral Services. This year I have also been appointed as the Interim Pastor of the Peregian Congregation of the Anglican Church of Noosa. We meet at 9:30am every Sunday morning in the College Studio; everyone is welcome. I look forward to meeting you soon."
