A College Wellbeing announcement

Dear St Andrew’s community

Over the coming weeks, we will begin to share with parents some of our exciting plans for 2019 and beyond. These are grounded in our Strategic Plan and relate to our commitment to the values of Encouraging Learning, Creating Opportunities and Building Connections.  The first this week is in the area of wellbeing.

As we re-launch our College Wellbeing program in 2019 I am pleased to announce that Mrs Melanie Clare has accepted our offer to oversee the program as Head of College Wellbeing.  Mel has been a passionate supporter of our program over the past couple of years, giving many hours of her own time to develop opportunities for both our staff and students. While we will miss Mel’s experience in the Prep classroom, I know she will provide great encouragement and leadership in this new role.  Mel will be working in collaboration with our College Psychologist Dr Jasmine Green. Jasmine has had a great deal of experience in embedding Positive Education principles in previous schools and we look forward to their implementation of our strategic plan for wellbeing.

I commend Mel’s article in the bulletin as she explains in more detail the implementation of the Flourish at School Survey, which will become an integral part of a student’s journey here at St Andrew’s.  Our aim is to assist students to not only reflect on aspects of life like friendships and mindfulness, but begin to gain strategies they can use to assist them.

I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming celebratory events!

Best wishes

Reverend Chris Ivey
